What does Invisalign treatment involve?
At Amazing Smiles Orthodontics, Invisalign treatment begins with a review of your dental records, a discussion of your treatment goals, and a complete oral exam. During the exam, Dr. Yusupov checks the alignment of your teeth and jaw and assesses how your teeth fit together.
If Dr. Yusupov determines that you can benefit from treatment, he takes digital impressions of your teeth and jaw with an intraoral scanner and uploads them to a computer design program. Dr. Yusupov uses the program to map out the exact movements of your teeth and jaw.
After finalizing the plan, he sends your scans to an Invisalign lab that creates a series of custom orthodontic appliances.
During treatment, you visit Amazing Smiles Orthodontics every few weeks for checkups. At each appointment, Dr. Yusupov monitors your progress and provides you with a new pair of Invisalign aligners. Each new pair puts mild pressure on your teeth and jaw, improving their alignment and position.
How long does treatment with Invisalign take?
Orthodontic treatment with Invisalign typically takes 12-18 months* but it may take longer, depending on the alignment problems treated and your commitment to Dr. Yusupov’s plan. Wear your aligners 20-22 hours each day, only removing them to eat or brush and floss, to ensure the process goes smoothly.
